1. Fast Food  is very bad for your health.

A lot of people eat fast food almost every day because they find it very tasty.

Sometimes they eat it because they are busy and don't have time, or are too tired to cook.

Firstly, fast food such as burgers and chips contain a lot of fat and salt. People

shouldn't eat fast food very often as this is bad for their health. We need to eat a plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as fish and meat.

Secondly, fast food is very expensive. The money some people spend on fast

food in one week is enough to buy fresh food for two weeks. On the other hand, some people say that eating fast food saves time. They can cook during the weekend so that they have enough food for the whole week and so it's a way busy people can avoid cooking during the working week.

Although fast food is usually tasty and convenient, people should try to

prepare their own meals and eat meat which is full of protein and other healthy products, all these items of food will make their lives long and healthy.

The old dog

      The farmer had a dog. When the dog was old, the farmer thought: “The dog is very old. I don’t want to give him food – he can’t work well.”

      So he drove the dog out. Poor dog! He walked and walked and walked. He was very hungry. In the evening he saw a wolf. The wolf said:” What’s the matter with you? You look terrible!”

“I haven’t got a home now. The farmer doesn’t want me. I’m very old now. I can’t work much now and he doesn’t want to feed me. I’m hungry.”

      “I know how to help you”, said the wolf.

In the morning the farmer went to work in the field. He took his little son with him. He put his son down and started working. The wolf ran up to the boy, took him and ran away with him.

      When the farmer saw it, he ran after the wolf. But he couldn’t get his son back. Then the dog ran after the wolf. The dog took the boy away from the wolf and brought the little boy to his father. The farmer was very happy. He thanked the dog and said: “Excuse me, please! You are a very good friend. Come back and live with us.”

      The old dog was very happy!

A  Story

   One day some Americans were having dinner at a hotel in London. When fish was put on the table one of them, a young man said: “Let’s examine the fish carefully, perhaps we’ll find a diamond in it.” Everybody began to laugh, but an old man said quietly: “Yes, I’m sure we have all heard stories like that. Let me tell you what happened to me once.”

   “When I was a young man”, he began, “I worked for a big company in New York; and I was sent to England to do some work there.  I was in love with a beautiful girl, and before I left for England, we decided that we would get married when I returned home.

     I stayed in England for two months. I sent letters and postcards to the girl almost every day, but after the first two weeks I didn’t receive any answers. But I didn’t think anything was the matter, and before I left for home, I bought a beautiful diamond ring for her.

  On the ship one morning, a telegram was brought to me. It was from a friend in New York, who told me that the girl had changed her mind and was going to get married to another man. I was so angry that I threw the diamond ring into the sea.

  My friend came to the port to meet me, and he invited me to dinner. While we were sitting down at the table and I was eating fish, I suddenly felt something hard in my mouth. What do you think it was?”

  “The diamond!” all the Americans cried.

  “No,” the old man answered, “It was the fish bone.”
